ABOUT

Nature has always been an inspiration for me through my art, music and photography. This stuck with me from my childhood, through the walks and holidays my parents took myself and my brother on. Nature was always in front of us, an important part of our lives. Memories of my dad in his in his snorkelling gear pulling myself and my brother out to sea in a small dingy during slack water. Diving in to the deep mysterious ocean and then reappearing with an alien creature from the deep in his hands.

I eventually would study and work within the school of animal, marine and plant biology in Bangor, North Wales. Here I witnessed some astonishing wildlife at work. I was lucky enough to be involved in studies out at sea and on land. I also curated the private museum which was located in the university, the biodiversity of the natural world expanding in front of me, very fond memories and a huge influence on my life.

All these experiences have enabled me to respect the natural world, understand and cherish it. It helps tremendously when planning a trip to capture elusive animals. You have to have great fieldcraft and never underestimate these wonderful creatures. You have to be prepared to fail to succeed. Even if a trip does not yield the subject or outcome you wished for, I find nature always puts on a show, you never go home empty handed.

If you want sincerity, if you want reality and peace of mind, step into Mother Nature and listen to what she has to say!

All subjects photographed by me on this website are wild creatures, photographed in their natural wild habitat with my fujifilm X-H2s and 150 -600 fujifilm XF Lens.
